I'm not an Exchange admin/developer but just an ITSM (IBM Tivoli Storage Manager) admin trying to successfully restore a single mailbox on a Exchange 2010 DAG environment.
We have 3 DAG servers and 5 CAS servers, there are no DAG/CAS servers, all servers are on the same subnet and there are no firewalls between them (at least this is what network men told me). I did everything IBM asked but it looks like MAPI communication
doesn't work. IBM Data protection has a "tdpmapi.exe" tool but we were not able to make it work so IBM Level 2 support suggested to use MFCMAPI to test connection.
Right now we just have a bunch of "MAPI_E_NETWORK_ERROR" if we use the CAS Load-Balancer name/IP Address and "MAPI_E_FAILONEPROVIDER" if we use one of the CAS servers.
First tests we made we just used the "New Profile" wizard using different servers IP/names, then we found a procedure to make an "Exchange 2010 profile" changing some parameters (can't remember which ones) and then we found another hint that "Administrator"
user shouldn't be hidden...
I'm using an administrative user, on the wizard I just put the one CAS server IP address and the username (Check names works) but as I click on the "Mailbox - User" object I get the "Code: MAPI_E_FAILONEPROVIDER == 0x8004011D" error.
Do you have any hint?
PS: Sorry for my long and maybe useless post...
