lots of MAPI_E_NOT_FOUND errors

Hello all,

We have an Exchange 2007 SP3 server that we migrated from 5.5 > 2003.
Currently we are experiencing slow shared calendar issues on Outlook clients.

Looking in MFCMAPI we see a lot of MAPI_E_NOT_FOUND errors like Err:0x8004010F=MAPI_E_NOT_FOUND

Could these errors relate to the slow calendar issues? If not what is causing these MAPI errors?

Thanks in advance!

It's typical, when looking at a MAPI object, to see a number of properties with the error MAPI_E_NOT_FOUND. It just means that particular property is not present. Basically, unless you really needed that particular property, just ignore it. It has nothing to do with your calendar issue.

Slow shared calendar is generally due to an overload of views on the calendar folder combined with a large number of items in the calendar folder. If you can, you should start by archiving old calendar entries so they're not in the folder and can't contribute to any perf problems. After that, look at these articles:

If you are running in cached mode, try this on the clients.

in mailbox - <name>, properties, advanced, advanced, remove tag from "get shared folders".

Shared calendars are cached, and also shared mailboxes.

Pro's: It speeds up shifting between calendar and mail, and the OST-file isen't growing as fast.

Con's: You will not have shared mailboxes offline.
