Changing IPF type of Folders

Oct 14, 2011 at 8:29 PM

I have done a migration to a hosted Exchange 2010 server. I exported the mail from the previous server as IMAP items. When I did the import into Outlook 2007, all the created folders were made as Folders containing IMAP items. This doesn't allow the folders to sync through ActiveSync.

Using the MFCMAPI tool, I can change the folder type from IPF.IMAP to IPF.Note. This will allow the folder to sync now.

Issue I have is, is there a way to set a top level folder and have it change all the subfolders under that folder?

Thanks,

No, but you can copy a prop from one folder to another, speeding up the process. Be careful though - not every folder is IPF.Note. Calendar, for instance is different.

How would I copy the prop? I am really new to this software.

All the folders are mail messages, so not a big deal. Thanks for the warning though.

Go to a good copy of the prop and use Ctrl+c to copy it, then go to the target folder and hit ctrl+v to paste it.
